The Evolution Link (SS) pipe set has been tested and developed together with the Slip-On Line (Titanium) exhaust system to provide an optimal upgrade and greater exhaust tuning potential. The use of this setup is designed for the race track and will offer a sporty sound and increased performance. By eliminating the OPF, sound levels and frequency content are emphasized, providing an increased sound, leading to an exhilarating tone with pops and burbles as a pleasant aural attack when overtaking and when downshifting. The change in performance is a notable factor: compared in consecutive runs on the Akrapovic dyno against a BMW M135i using a standard stock exhaust, there is a 5.1 kW (6.9 hp) increase in power at 4,250 rpm and 11.5 Nm of torque is added at 4,250 rpm. When installing the Evolution Link (SS) pipe set, which is designed for closed track use only, ECU remapping is mandatory to avoid potential "check engine light" warning signals.
