The Evolution performance exhaust system for the BMW M3 consists of dual-exit mufflers, flow-optimized link pipes and an X-pipe incorporating 100 cpsi high-flow sports catalytic converters and resonators. The power and torque gains of the BMW M3 with the Evolution system are simply incredible. A substantial increase is detected across a very wide rpm range and therefore increases responsiveness during all phases of driving. Along with an incredible weight saving, the Evolution system drastically changes the power-to-weight ratio. Our goal was to design a system that would deliver a deep, rich growl at cruising speeds, while still allowing the driver to enjoy an aggressive roar when driving hard. Complete the look with a set of two exquisite titanium or carbon fiber tailpipes. When installing optional aftermarket Akrapovic downpipes with sports catalytic converters or without catalytic converters, which are developed for closed-course use only, ECU remapping is mandatory. When installing the Akrapovic aftermarket exhaust system that was developed for closed track use, we recommend remapping the ECU to avoid potential »check engine light« warning signals.
