Racingline Magnetic Drain/Fill Plug Set for Haldex (Gen.5) – VWR180002
Catch any ferrous particles in your oil with RacingLine’s Haldex magnetic plug to protect your AWD system. If you drive one of the smaller VWG models with four-wheel drive, it will use the Haldex system. It’s a clever coupling system that allows the rear wheel drive to be engaged only when necessary when the front wheels lose traction.
What does this do? <"bullet-arrow"> Haldex oil is very specific and promotes friction between the faces of the multi-plate clutch assembly. Inevitably, this wear between the plates causes tiny particles to slowly accumulate as sludge within the oil.
This sludge builds up around the pump's oil filter, which gradually prevents the Haldex system from functioning properly. Many owners have experienced their AWD cars slowly becoming FWD as this filter becomes blocked.
Our new Haldex RacingLine magnetic plug attracts and separates these tiny ferrous and abrasive metal particles, preventing them from circulating through Haldex lubrication systems and reducing filter-clogging sludge.
