The APR Turbocharger intake system frees up up to 45% of the stock components and jumps to 60% with the addition of the APR intake filter. This is accomplished first by eliminating the most critical restriction in the entire intake system, the turbocharger intake manifold. Because of this restriction, no airbox/intake filter design can physically match the gains achieved by upgrading to the APR Turbo intake system alone. This intake is the first step you should take when upgrading your intake system and paves the way for even greater gains with the addition of the optional intake filter.
The APR turbocharger intake system uses a massive 4" carbon fiber intake tube that connects to the factory airbox or APR intake filter system. Attached to the carbon fiber tube is a massive 4" cast aluminum intake tube that is organically shaped to retain the largest cross-sectional area all the way to the turbocharger compressor cover inlet. Despite the visually odd shape, keeping the cross-sectional area as large as possible is key to the tube's performance gains and flows very smoothly with continuously tapered designs.
Interlocking adapter rings form an ideal turbocharger inlet, while larger rings (sold separately) provide support for even larger hybrid turbocharger upgrades. A thick stainless steel heat shield protects the turbocharger’s hot header pipe, and a stainless PCV outer tube provides proper PCV positioning without affecting the inlet design.
Finally, adding the optional APR intake filter completely transforms the system from subtle to extreme. Our massive 9" long cotton filter with front opening connects to a 6" carbon fiber intake tube that gradually tapers down to a 4" rear tube. You will hear every ounce of airflow from the 5-cylinder turbocharger system and do so with a 60% CFM improvement over stock! This was only possible with an open filter system as the airflow demands required a boxless design. Simply put, this is the best intake system on the market to meet demanding and uncompromising airflow requirements.
